Closing a chapter

Last Wednesday we (Sunshine and I) drove to spend a week with my family.  This particular trip was very memorable - we were there to help my Dad and Mom prepare to auction their dairy cattle.  While I was (and still am) a little sad to see the dairy aspect of my parent's farm come to a close, I am very thankful for all the great memories I have of being raised on a dairy farm, as well as the values that were instilled.  My Dad and Mom taught me a lot about responsibility, perseverance, and hard work.

My family spent a lot of time getting ready for the sale, and I was glad that I could join in and be a part of it for a few days.  We had fun working together and laughed a lot about silly things we did as kids.  Everyone worked so hard and pulled off a great sale day at the farm!  My heart is thankful that it came together so well.

Here are a few of our Brown Swiss cows.  My 3 sister's and I were in 4-H and we showed Brown Swiss for many years.  We have a lot of fun memories from those days.
We took this picture after the sale.  It was a long day for everyone!
